INGREDIENTS:
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp cinnamon, ground
- 6 oz white rum
- 3 oz banana liqueur
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 6 bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise
- vanilla ice cream
STEP BY STEP:
- Combine the rum and the banana liqueur. Gently heat but do not allow to come to a boil
- Melt the butter in a chafing dish and thoroughly blend in the brown sugar.
Add the bananas. Sauté lightly. Sprinkle the cinnamon over
- Lower the flame and pour the rum and banana liqueur mixture over the bananas
- Ignite carefully, basting the bananas with the flaming liquid
- Serve over ice cream after the flames have died.
TIPS:
The bananas must be fully ripe (yellow skins flecked with small brown spots) for this recipe.
