Baked Chocolate Fudge Pudding

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 tbsp shortening or margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup boiling water

STEP BY STEP:

  1. Cream together shortening/margarine and sugar
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt
  3. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with 1/2 cup of milk
  4. Fold in 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Put batter into ungreased 9-inch baking pan
  5. Mix together brown sugar, cocoa, and salt
  6. Sprinkle over top of batter. Do not stir. Pour 1-1/2 cups boiling water over all
  7. Bake at 350 degree F for 40 to 45 minutes
  8. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Best served warm.
