INGREDIENTS:
- 1 1/2 square unsweetened chocolate
- 1 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 4 slice buttered white bread, cubed
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/8 tbsp salt
- 3/4 tbsp vanilla
STEP BY STEP:
- Place water in 3 qt. saucepan; bring to boil; place a 2 qt. casserole inside the saucepan
- Melt chocolate; add brown sugar, milk; stir until sugar dissolves. Stir in bread cubes
- Combine beaten eggs with milk, salt, vanilla; pour over bread cubes; do not stir
- Cover; cook over boiling water 1 hour 10 minutes
- Serve warm, topped with whipped cream if desired.
