INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 square unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 4 slice buttered white bread, cubed
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/8 tbsp salt
  • 3/4 tbsp vanilla

STEP BY STEP:

  1. Place water in 3 qt. saucepan; bring to boil; place a 2 qt. casserole inside the saucepan
  2. Melt chocolate; add brown sugar, milk; stir until sugar dissolves. Stir in bread cubes
  3. Combine beaten eggs with milk, salt, vanilla; pour over bread cubes; do not stir
  4. Cover; cook over boiling water 1 hour 10 minutes
  5. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream if desired.
