INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup soft butter or margarine
- 2 cups unpeeled, shredded apples
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
STEP BY STEP:
- Cream sugar and butter. Add egg, beat well
- Shred apples medium fine and add at once to creamed mixture. Stir in sifted dry ingredients
- Add nuts. Bake in greased 8 or 9 inch square pan for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F
- Serve with ice cream, favorite sauce, or whipped cream.
