INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp hot chili paste
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • fresh lemon juice to taste
  • salt and Pepper to taste

STEP BY STEP:

  1. In medium saucepan, heat the oil and sauté the garlic until clear
  2. Add the ketchup, vinegar, onion, red wine, worcestershire sauce, hoisin sauce and chili paste to the sauce
  3. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. Then, place the saucepan over low heat, cover, and let the sauce simmer for 1 to 2 hours to develop the flavors, stirring occasionally.
