INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups wholewheat flour
  • 1/3 cup plain yogurt
  • ghee
  • water

STEP BY STEP:

  1. Add yogurt to flour and mix in well
  2. Add enough water to make a soft dough
  3. Knead well with palm of the hand
  4. Divide the dough into small pieces the size of a tennis ball
  5. Roll each ball in the palm, of the hand, using both palms to pat the dough. Set aside. Heat tawa
  6. Roll out the dough into 4-5 inch circles, on a floured board
  7. Place on the hot tawa and when the top side starts to bubble, turn over and the other side to cook for about 15-20 seconds
  8. Hold this chapati over an open medium-low flame and turn over to allow the entire chapati to fluff up
  9. Brush each side with a little ghee and serve hot.
