INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup Quaker Enriched White Hominy Quick Grits
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds
- 3 eggs, beaten
STEP BY STEP:
- Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Stir grits slowly into salted boiling water in small heavy saucepan
- Return to a boil. Reduce heat; cook for 2 1/2 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Stir in sugar and butter. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon to grits mixture; mix well
- Pour into greased 8 inch square baking dish; sprinkle with raisins and almonds
- Bake about 50 minutes. Cut into squares; serve warm or cold. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
