INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup Quaker Enriched White Hominy Quick Grits
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  • 3 eggs, beaten

STEP BY STEP:

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Stir grits slowly into salted boiling water in small heavy saucepan
  2. Return to a boil. Reduce heat; cook for 2 1/2 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
  3. Stir in sugar and butter. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon to grits mixture; mix well
  4. Pour into greased 8 inch square baking dish; sprinkle with raisins and almonds
  5. Bake about 50 minutes. Cut into squares; serve warm or cold. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
