INGREDIENTS:
- 3/4 cup chopped onions
- 2 tbsp minced fresh garlic
- 2 tbsp peeled and minced fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cup aloha shoyu
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 papaya, seeded, peeled and mashed
- 2 tbsp sherry
- 1 lb flank steak, sliced into thin sheets
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup carrots, julienne
- 2 tbsp green onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup red pepper
- salt and pepper to taste
STEP BY STEP:
- Combine onions, garlic, brown sugar, shoyu, water, papaya and sherry in a large bowl, mix well for marinate the steak. Overnight in refrigerator
- Saute remaining vegetables over medium high heat for 2-3 minute
- Lay a thin sheet of steack on a clean flat surface
- Spoon vegetables onto one side of the flank steack, season with salt and pepper
- Roll the meat and secure it with toothpicks. Grill meat until cooked
- Grill meat until cooked.
TIPS:
Papaya is used to make the flank steak soft and easy to chew. Use ripe papaya to get good result.
