INGREDIENTS:
- 2 lb pears
- 1/2 lb sugar
- 2 cup water
- 1 cinnamon stick, 3 inches
- grated zest of 1/2 lemon
STEP BY STEP:
- Peel and core the pears
- Place in pot with remaining ingredients and bring to a boil
- Cook 10-15 minutes, until the pears are very soft but still hold their shape
- Serve warm or at room temperature with some of the cooking syrup.
