Tofu With Mushrooms In Oyster Sauce

INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 oz tofu
  • 4 oz canned whole mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 cup green peas, cooked
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger root,sliced
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp white wine
  • 1/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch, dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Dash of pepper

STEP BY STEP:

  1. Cut tofu into 1 inch cubes, Pour hot water over tofu; drain
  2. Stir fry gingerroot and green onion for 1 minute
  3. Add vegetable broth, oyster sauce, tofu and mushrooms, then heat until hot
  4. Add peas, soy sauce, wine, and dash of pepper
  5. Pour cornstarch mixture over tofu and stir and cook until thickened
