INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 lb of cut-up chicken pieces
- 1 stalk of long green onions, optional
- 3 pieces of dried star-anise (1 teaspoon anise seed will substitute)
STEP BY STEP:
- Mix together the soy sauce, water, sugar, green onion, and dried star-anise
- Bring to a boil and put the chicken into the mixture
- Lower the heat to medium-high and let the chicken stew in the mixture for at least an hour
- This is a very easy dish to prepare. Serve with rice.
