INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 pound thin sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
- 15 oz cream of mushroom soup
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 stalks celery, chopped small
- 2 large onions, chopped small
- 1 tsp sage, or to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder, or to taste
- 1 tsp red pepper sauce(hot sauce)
- 2 cups instant rice, uncooked
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
STEP BY STEp:
- Place chicken, celery, mushrooms, and onion in large pot
- Put enough water in pot to completely cover chicken very well. Cook approximately 30 minutes after it begins to boil. Remove chicken from bone and return to pot. Bring to boil
- Add mushroom soup. Return to boil. Add remaining seasonings. Let cook about 15 minutes
- Add rice. Let cook 15 minutes longer. If needed, add additional water to pot. Seasonings are to taste. Serve with favorite crackers, crusty bread, or cornbread.
